Rapid growth of online oral nicotine sales in Norway

Norway’s leading financial newspaper, Finansavisen, interviews Gavin O’Dowd about the rapid increase in e-commerce sales of oral nicotine products such as snus and nicotine pouches. He attributes the increase in sales to smokers switching to safer alternatives as well as the overall trend of online shopping.
“We’ve observed an increase in sales in western Norway that can be directly attributed to smokers converting to safer alternatives, as well as a general trend of online purchases. In eastern Norway these trends are further strengthened by price-conscious shoppers reacting to closed border shopping.” says Gavin O’Dowd, CEO at Haypp Group.
Haypp Group’s online store Snushjem.no surpassed expectations and the revenue increased by 255% during 2020.
